We look forward to seeing our students! The theme for the 2024-2025 school year is "In Our Shannon Era." Staff dressed up in costume from different eras to celebrate being back to school!
January 2025 Kindergarten Gifted & Talented Assessments
Per the Texas Education Agency (TEA) requirement, all kindergarten students are considered potential candidates for gifted/talented and other advanced-level services. Rockwall ISD will administer aptitude tests to all kindergarteners during the school day from January 13 - 17, 2025.

October Student of the Month
Congratulations to the following students who were recognized as "Student of the Month." One student from each grade level is recognized for their outstanding character that they exhibit at school on a daily basis! Keep up the hard work!
Shannon Presidential Election
Shannon Elementary Student Council organized student voting for the 2024 Presidential Election. All students in PK-6th grade cast their ballot for President of the United States.

Rockwall-Heath High School honored more than 250 students for outstanding achievement in academics on Nov. 20, 2024. Students were recognized for their achievements in Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, National Merit and College Board, Superintendent Scholars, and Trustee awards.

More than $32,000 in innovative teaching grants were awarded to District educators for the 2024-2025 school year through the Rockwall ISD Education Foundation (REF).

For the second consecutive year, Rockwall High School has received the Silver level of distinction for the College Board AP School Honor Roll.

Teacher Julie Byrnes at Billie Stevenson Elementary received a $300 grant from local Bimbo Bakeries this week. The Bimbo Bakeries team, along with mascot Osito, visited Mrs. Byrnes's classroom to present her with a check and lots of baked goods and treats!

Rockwall High School held an Academic Achievement Awards assembly celebrating students for the hard work that has earned them national academic recognition.

The 2023-2024 FCCLA Fashion Design students from the Dr. Gene Burton College and Career Academy placed in the Top 10 in the nation at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference held in Seattle, Washington.

Six Rockwall ISD art students have been selected by the Texas Art Education Association to display their artwork in the 2024-2025 TASA/TASB txEDCON Exhibition this month.
