VATRE & Bond 2024
The Rockwall ISD proposals before voters are two parts of a long-range plan. The bond will allow for more schools to be built. The VATRE will allow Rockwall ISD to increase compensation for educators, fund state requirements, including unfunded state mandates and allow the District to hire more teachers to meet the growing enrollment.
NAGLIERI General Ability Tests
The NAGLIERI General Ability Tests will be administered to all Rockwall ISD second-grade and fourth-grade students between September 24 and September 27, 2024. The test will be administered over three days, and students will spend no more than one hour on it each day.

August Character of the Month
Our character trait of the month for August was Self-Control. Teachers were on the look out all month looking for students who represented this trait well. It was a tough decision, but we were so proud to announce our Self-Control Stars at the end of the month during lunch time! We also gave out our first group of student of the month awards for the month of August too! It was a great day of celebrations at Shannon!

Two Rockwall ISD high school students have been named 2025 National Merit Semifinalists. Congratulations to Rockwall High School senior Angela Williams and Rockwall-Heath High School senior Savannah Crocker.

At the August Board meeting, the Board of Trustees approved the VATRE/Bond propositions for the November 5 ballot. Learn more about the propositions here.

Seventy-five Rockwall ISD high school students have earned national recognition from the College Board for their high performance on the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test or Advanced Placement Exams.
